Travel & Cruise Castlemaine, as part of the Travellers Choice network, is proud to support Animals Asia, an organisation dedicated to ending bear bile farming and improving animal welfare across Asia.
In partnership with Adventure World, a group of Travellers Choice members visited Vietnam and saw firsthand the incredible work being done at Animals Asia’s Tam Dao sanctuary. There, the group witnessed the incredible efforts to rescue and rehabilitate moon bears. Moved by what they saw, they knew they wanted to make a real difference.
In 2024, Travellers Choice became a proud Bear Guardian to Bong Bong. Rescued in 2015, she had been living on a bile farm behind a restaurant in Halong Bay. Unlike many rescued bears who are underfed, Bong Bong was very overweight which is how she received her name – Bong Bong is Vietnamese for ‘bubbles’. Today, she is one of 192 bears thriving at the Tam Dao sanctuary, a happy, independent foodie living her best life, just as she deserves.
But the work is far from over. Hundreds of bears are still trapped in cruel facilities, waiting for their chance at freedom. You can help change their fate. Your donation supports Animals Asia’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate and provide lifelong care for these incredible animals.
